Sonia Musnikov

I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW133272) providing therapy under the supervision of Autumn LaTour, LMFT #126135 and Susan Soderman, LMFT #98962. My journey as a therapist began long before graduate school, as I immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 12 and quickly became aware of the unique challenges of navigating multiple cultures. Being trilingual in English, Russian, and Hebrew has deepened my passion for working with diverse communities and learning from the stories of those I meet.

I bring over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents, as well as 3 years in a nonprofit setting supporting children and families through grief and loss. In my clinical work, I use a client-centered and adaptive approach where I draw from interventions such as EMDR and other evidence-based modalities and always tailoring my methods to each client’s individual style and needs. My priority is to create a safe and supportive environment where trust can grow, and where clients can feel seen and understood as we slowly step into their world together.

I enjoy working with children, teens, adults and families, and I find it deeply meaningful to walk alongside clients through transitions, trauma, and healing. Whether you are navigating grief, managing life stressors, or seeking greater clarity and balance, I believe therapy can be a space to build resilience and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Though I am new to Santa Barbara, I immediately felt at home here. I grew up in Redondo Beach, spent four years living in Las Vegas while completing my graduate degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and now I’m grateful to return to the coast that has always been close to my heart. Outside of the therapy room, you can often find me on the beach, practicing yoga, dancing, or singing karaoke with friends. I also love traveling the world whenever I can because it keeps me inspired and connected to the beauty of different cultures and people.
