Kaila Martin, AMFT

As a therapist, I believe that everyone has a story and that you are an expert of your lived experience. Because of that, I will assist you in processing your experiences as narratives that align with you and that you want to change. I also believe that every person has strengths, and I like to use those strengths as tools to help you achieve your goals in therapy. This is why I primarily use narrative therapy, internal family systems therapy (IFS), solution-focused therapy (SFT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT), along with other evidence-based modalities that I believe are helpful tools in your therapeutic journey.

Through gaining experience working with a variety of client populations in community mental health, I have found my calling in my work with adolescents, adults, and couples by helping them navigate the complexities of relational distress, trauma, and anxiety. With each of my clients, I prioritize providing safe, compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed therapy tailored to their needs as there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Each person has the ability to grow, and I would love to be a resource to help.

In my free time, I love exploring the outdoors in Santa Barbara County, spending time with friends and family, reading, and finding treasure at a local thrift store or estate sale.

I am under the supervision of Susan Soderman, LMFT #98962.
