Elizabeth Bottoms, AMFT APCC
Since graduating from Golden Gate University, I have received an Associate Marriage Family Therapist Licensure (150237), as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor Licensure (17744). I am a native to Santa Barbara and am looking forward to bringing my clinical expertise back to my home town where my passion grew. I was able to have such a positive experience with mental health in SB that I am excited to bring it back myself.
Over the past five years I was living and working in San Francisco working with middle school students as their primary mental health clinician. I enjoyed working with students at this age due to it being such a big transitional period and students starting to understand and explore themselves. I believe in growth and self advocacy at any age in life. With this I take interest in working with young adults and adults. We continue to find grow, evolve our interests and objectives, and become aware of how experiences have been impactful on our lives. This is why I believe seeking mental health can be powerful at any stage in life and I look forward in assisting those who are interested in seeking guidance. I take pride in growing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients and guiding them to clarity and self-growth. I like to meet my clients where they are at and set a clear path where there is room for growth, collaboration and safety.
In my free time I like to concentrate on my own self care which may look like spending time at home, with family and friends, spending time at the beach or outdoors, reading or dancing to my favorite music. I enjoy spending quality time with those who are close to me and especially camping. If you have not already been, Big Sur is one of my favorite places in California or even the world.
I am currently under the supervision of Susan Soderman, LMFT #98962
